Strategic Asset Management | Big Four

CLIENT
Our client is the Infrastructure Advisory practice of one of the Big Four.  This is a large, multidisciplinary, whole life-cycle group, providing advice to public and private sector infrastructure clients across Deals, Economics, Capital Project Delivery and Strategy.

BRIEF
To complement their existing team, our client was looking to launch a new service line, Asset Management Advisory.  This team would focus on working with asset intensive organisations, bringing together people, processes and technology to maximise the return on investment from existing assets.  We were tasked with supporting their ambitious growth plans at all grades as the lead search partner.

STRATEGY
The most interesting aspect of this assignment was the task of unearthing individuals not currently operating in advisory, but with the core skills to do.  Once we had identified and engaged with the limited number of infrastructure asset managers proven within advisory, we then started to engage with those who were unproven in this space, testing their potential to make the transition.

RESULTS
In the first 5 years of partnership we appointed more than 25 individuals, including all their new Directors.  This new team, with a combination of proven advisors and subject matter experts from industry, is now recognised as the leading Infrastructure Asset Management advisor.  We also helped them to achieve ambitious gender diversity targets in a space where women are greatly under-represented.
